The Wegovy pill can be filled at an ordinary pharmacy such as CVS or Costco, by mail from Novo Nordisk's own pharmacy, through Amazon Pharmacy, or via a telehealth service that writes and routes the prescription. For people paying cash, the price is not the store's to set: it comes from Novo Nordisk's self-pay offer and is meant to be the same wherever it is redeemed. The channels differ in how the prescription is obtained, how the tablets arrive, and what fees sit on top. This page reads each channel's own published statement.

Why the price is the same at the counter
Novo Nordisk's self-pay terms for the tablets list a single price per strength — $149 for 1.5 mg, $199 for 4 mg, $299 for 9 mg and for 25 mg, per 30-tablet bottle — and say the offer "may be redeemed at participating retail pharmacies". CVS's June statement quotes the same $149 floor. Amazon's quotes the same $149 cash floor. The arithmetic behind those prices, and why a bottle lasts two days longer than a box of pens, is on what the Wegovy pill costs.
One detail the channels' pages do not show: the 4 mg price has already moved twice. Novo's launch announcement of 5 January 2026 listed 4 mg at $149 "through April 15, 2026", then $299. The self-pay terms read on 30 September carried a limited-time $149 for prescriptions filled by 31 August 2026 and a standard $199 — a price that appears in neither of the launch announcement's two figures. A channel page or article quoting $149 or $299 for 4 mg is quoting an earlier version of the offer.
CVS
Novo named CVS among the pharmacies carrying the pill at launch. CVS Health's own statement of 22 June 2026 says its pharmacies carry "both injectable and oral options from multiple manufacturers", that out-of-pocket cost "can be as low as $25 a month through commercial insurance with a manufacturer coupon for eligible patients, or $149 for those without insurance who utilize a manufacturer voucher for qualifying medications and doses", and that CVS is "a retail pharmacy partner for NovoCare". The $149 figure is the 1.5 mg price; higher strengths cost more under the same voucher. CVS's separate role as an insurer's pharmacy-benefit manager, which decides whether a plan covers Wegovy at all, is on CVS Caremark and GLP-1s.
Costco
Costco is the second pharmacy Novo's launch announcement names. A Costco pharmacy filling a self-pay prescription is redeeming Novo's offer, so the tablet price is Novo's price for the dose. How a Costco member obtains the prescription is a separate question: Sesame, Costco's healthcare partner, described Costco Pharmacy filling Novo's self-pay Wegovy and Ozempic pens in a post updated 17 November 2025, with the prescription coming from Sesame's paid weight-loss programme or any other prescriber. The member-benefit price list Sesame publishes for Costco is set out, as read on 9 September 2026, on Costco and GLP-1s.
Amazon Pharmacy
Amazon states that Amazon Pharmacy offers the Wegovy pill "with insurance coverage starting as low as $25 per month or cash-pay options starting at $149 per month", with free home delivery and same-day delivery in more than 3,100 US cities and towns. It also states that eligible Medicare Part D patients can get "Wegovy (injectable and oral pill)" for $50 a month through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge — the rules of which, including who is excluded, are on the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge. Amazon adds that it applies manufacturer-sponsored coupons to eligible orders automatically.
The kiosk detail. Amazon Pharmacy kiosks sit in select One Medical clinics in the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas, and the kiosk page states they do not contain "medications requiring refrigeration such as Wegovy". That rules out the pens. The tablets are stored at room temperature under their label, so they are the only Wegovy form a kiosk is not excluded from by that rule; whether a given kiosk stocks them is not stated.
NovoCare Pharmacy
Novo Nordisk's own mail-order pharmacy sells the self-pay prices directly, dispensed by CoAssist Pharmacy, and is the route Novo names for people who want nothing to do with a retail counter. Its terms, and how it differs from a retail fill, are on NovoCare Pharmacy.
Telehealth services
Novo's launch announcement named Ro, LifeMD and WeightWatchers as select telehealth providers, alongside GoodRx. A telehealth service adds a clinician who may write the prescription, and usually a consultation or membership fee on top of the medicine. Those fees belong to the service, not to Novo's offer, and they are where the total cost differs most between channels. The routes to a prescription, telehealth included, are compared on how to get a GLP-1.
What none of the channels changes
- A prescription is required everywhere. No US channel sells the Wegovy pill over the counter.
- Insurance decides the insured price, not the store. Novo's $25 card pays at most $100 per 30-day bottle; its terms are on the Wegovy savings card.
- The label is the same wherever it is filled. The pill's trial record and daily routine are on the Wegovy pill review.
